Job in Blue Gas

Job in Blue Gas

You’ve landed what you thought was the job of your dreams. Each stage of the interview went smoothly - you sold them on your skills and expertise, and your prospective boss sold you on the position and benefits of joining the company. He/she seemed excited about extending an offer. And then, with offer in hand, it was thrilling to give your notice (or tell your friends you’re finally employed after a long stint of unemployment!). All seemed right with the world.

You’ve now been on board a few days… a week… perhaps even a month. Suddenly you’re not so sure you’ve made the right decision. The job that seemed like a dream is starting to feel like a nightmare. Perhaps the position isn’t what you thought it would be; it’s either too narrow, too broad, not challenging enough, or more of a stretch than you imagined. Maybe the company isn’t measuring up. Or, perhaps your boss isn’t the caring, supportive mentor you thought he/she would be.

Is it just the newness of the job? Changing jobs can be an unsettling experience. In your previous job, you knew your way around - you knew what was expected of you; you knew your job; you knew the players; you felt like you belonged. In a new job, however, it takes time to learn the ropes and feel like you’re truly adding value. Sometimes it’s best to give yourself time to get over the “newness” and then decide if the job is right for you.

Can you live with your boss? Hiring managers sometimes put their best foot forward in an interview, then do an about-face when a new employee arrives. Even though your boss isn’t the supportive manager you thought he/she would be, can you live with the change? If so, it may be worth staying. If, however, you experience a nauseous stomach on Monday mornings or a rise in blood pressure every time he/she walks into your office, it may be wise to consider leaving.

Can you navigate the politics? Office politics can be the bane of many employees’ existence. If you’ve been hired into a political crossfire, it will be important to assess your political skills to determine if you can make it work. If politics aren’t your strength, you may want to leave before you find yourself failing without even knowing why. If you’re good at developing relationships and working with differing styles, as well as “managing up”, you may want to consider staying and seeing if you can make a tough situation work.

Fine Your Job in Cruise Line Job - Go to Work!

Fine Your Job in Cruise Line Job - Go to Work!

Caribbean cruise line jobs are becoming exceptionally popular these days. Most of cruisers want to go on with their business deals during celebrity cruises; keeping in view their business needs they are offered different facilities in cruise ships. Most of the modern ships are wired for the internet that facilitates businessmen to communicate with their clients and staff throughout the trip.

Fantastic cruise line jobs! Going away for a vacation is the chance to get away from the grips of deadlines and other work-related stress. However, the reality is that for most professionals, completely going cold turkey on work is impossible. Either by choice or by necessity, there are some situations where it is unavoidable to spend some time for business while on board some cruise lines.

You can get mail out on the ocean:

This particular need is something that most cruise lines recognize and strive to provide for. The ships that sail from port to port now offer features which will allow even the busiest professionals to go on working as much as he or she needs to. One of the major developments of cruise lines is the outfitting of Wi-Fi, which means that it is now possible to be online in the middle of the ocean.

But don’t reply just yet:

Businessmen can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that they can send out emails and even schedule online conferences while they are on board a ship. However, before connecting it is important to check the prices in advance. Using the internet services of the ship can be quite expensive and run to about $28 per hour. Another option that you can take is to wait until the ship docks and use the internet establishments near the port.

All the tools you need can be available:

Almost all cruise lines also offer various office equipments for rent. Laptops, desktops, and even mobile phones can be borrowed for a fee over a certain time. What this means for the professional is that there is access to everything needed in order to work. If you are planning on bringing your own equipment, make sure that you check what kind of outlets is available on the ship. Different countries have different standards when it comes to power so make sure that it matches with the kind of plugs that you use.

You can rest knowing that you can work:

Finally, just because sailing entails being out in the ocean does not mean that the mobile phones have to be turned off and kept away. It is possible to keep in touch with the office throughout the voyage. Just check for the rates that apply when you call or send out messages. For most carriers, international roaming rates still apply.

The experience of cruise lines is supposed to be stress-free. If the way to achieve that is by ensuring that you do not have to worry about what is happening back at the workplace, then these companies have got it covered.

Online College For All Stages of Life

Online College For All Stages of Life

In the 1960 film High Times, late entertainer Bing Crosby portrayed the role of 51-year-old Harvey Howard, who decides to enroll in college for the first time in order to earn his bachelors degree. That would have been unusual for someone at that age and at that time, but today, people are attending college into their 70s and 80s.

Of course, one thing we have today that the fictional Harvey Howard did not is the miracle of Internet technology - and online college makes it easier than ever.

On Your Own, At Your Pace

One of the problems Bing Crosby’s character faced was the fact that he was old enough to be his classmates’ father - and while he was a sober and mature middle-aged man, his fellow students loved to “party down.” In earning an online college degree, this is one problem that you won’t have to deal with. This is also an aspect of online college that can be challenging; it is a solitary pursuit, and it takes real self-motivation to succeed. But if you are even considering going through an online college program, chances are you are pretty motivated already.

The other aspect of an online college degree is that it can be completed on your own time and at your own pace. You are not bound by the traditional semester or quarter system; typically, you have up to twelve months to complete an online college course.

A Thrifty Way To Go

An online college degree doesn’t require that you pay many of the fees that are traditionally associated with college. Obviously, your commute is only a few feet, from your bedroom to your PC terminal; in addition, you won’t be assessed for things such as lab fees and ASB fees.

In addition, online college is eligible for the same loans and grants as a traditional degree program.

Fully Accredited

The face is that online college degree programs are offered by virtually all major colleges and universities today. These institutions are fully accredited, which means that your online college degree carries the same weight as any other.

Self-Improvement

Of course, you don’t have to complete a full online college program; you may simply wish to take an online college course or two in order to brush up on an old skill or develop some new ones.

Get Started Now

There are thousands of online college options available; your biggest challenge may be narrowing your focus and deciding which one is best for you and your goals. There’s no time like the present however to get started in finding the right online colleg
