IIT Preparation - How Can One Crack It?

Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is conducted by Indian Institutes of Technology every year that is considered as one of the most important competitive exams of India. This exam is given by lots of students who want to make their career in engineering. However, only few students are being selected in this exam. In this article, I am trying to give some tips that may help you in cracking IIT.Exam Format

In JEE Entrance Exam, the format of the exam is changing. However, from the last three years, this exam included two separate papers of three hours each. These two papers contain three sections on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The questions of these papers are of the senior-secondary academic level expected at the stage. Each section of the exam includes questions under different headings.

Mathematics

For getting good scoring in Mathematics subject, an individual should have the ability to solve simple, stereotypical questions and challenging as well as complex problems. When you are attempting questions, then you should try to solve them in the reasonable time. If you are getting the right answer, then you should move on another question. In JEE Entrance exam, there is negative marking too. So you should not try for the guess. Today there are so many online tests available. Then try and attempt some mock question papers in a simulated environment before the exam.

Physics

Every year, the exam format of Physics changes in the JEE question paper. There are several subjective problems that may involve detailed solutions. For qualifying this exam, one should learn definitions and formulas in each chapter. An individual should understand the assumptions involved in deriving a formula. You should review chapters and recall the formula, laws and techniques in each chapter. The recommended books for Physics are ‘Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick and Walker’, ‘Advanced Level Physics by Nelkon and Parker and ‘Physics of class XI and XII by NCERT.

Chemistry

In JEE Exam, there are three branches of Chemistry i.e. Physical chemistry, Inorganic chemistry and Organic chemistry. In Physical Chemistry, topics are involved with well-focused principles. The students, who want to clear this exam, should pay attention to this branch of Chemistry because you can solve the problems that are related to it.
