LPN Training part 2

LPN Training part 2

To become an accomplished and recognized nurse, you have to first join and complete some LPN training. LPN is the acronym for licensed practical nursing and is the choice most people make instead of a registered nurse (RN) program. This is because the course is only a year long, thus giving the person sufficient experience and knowledge to start working as a nurse, so that a degree as a registered nurse can be pursued later on.

To become an LPN, you have to go through its relevant training and the NCLEX-PN exam. This is a license exam for registered nurses and aspirants in practical and vocational nursing. On passing this exam, the student completes the licensed practical nurse education.

All you require is a high school diploma to start LPN training. It is also possible to go through vocational training while in high school. It is up to you to choose your nursing training based on the schedules and requirements offered by different universities.

This training includes classroom training and clinical practice in nursing programs. The subjects covered here include physiology, anatomy, pediatrics, medical, surgical and psychiatric nursing, basic nutrition, administration of medicines and first aid training.

Once you have completed your LPN program, you receive your license as an LPN. If you manage to pass the NCLEX-PN, then you are start practicing as a practical nurse. Altogether, the test offers you 85 to 205 questions, where the number depends on the number of wrong answers you finally end up with.

The best place to look for your training is at the NAPNEs or the National Association for Practical Nurse Education and Services. This is the oldest organization of practical nursing education which concentrates on producing both practical and vocational nurses. It is possible to seek membership here for not only licensed practical nurses, but also for registered nurses, students, licensed vocational nurses, schools and other related organizations.

There are of course also many online institutions offering this training. You just have to visit the internet, and visit the more popular institutions for your choice of nurse training. You could also choose the right institution for the right training by asking your friends or accomplices for suggestions.

Basically, licensed practical nurses concentrate on providing more of bedside care. This is unlike the services and duties of registered nurses. Licensed nurses basically have more technical tasks where their practice depends on the state they study and serve in. However just because you complete this training, it does not mean you are the best nurse available.

To become a good and affluent practical nurse, you have to work at instilling care for people and especially for your patients. You have to use whatever you have learnt in LPN training and some common sense so that you will be competent and observant enough to give some great decisions and service as an LPN.
