The deadline date by which the New York Bar CLE courses need to be reported by is thirty days after the date of the professionals birthday during those years. Attorneys who have been practicing in the state for a while need to finish the 24 required hours every other year, which means that they have to report them that often too.

Attorneys who are new to practicing in NY have to also complete some additional courses which are considered to be transitional courses.
