Revatrol

Revatrol

Revatrol is a potent antioxidant that is made by some plants to protect against environmental stresses, an antioxidant that can help prevent cell damage caused by free radicals, Revatrol is also a dietary agent that has noticeable and diverse effects on the heart and blood vessels, it not only helps your heart, it postpones the effects of aging, thereby prolonging life.
Revatrol has strong evidence behind it showing that it impedes or stops many stages of cancer, Revatrol has also been found to inhibit the proliferation of a mixture of human cancer cell lines, including those from breast, prostate, stomach, colon, pancreatic, and thyroid cancers. Revatrol has also been linked to protecting against lung related cancer.

It has been verified that revatrol can protect the brain against oxidative stress, and keep cells alive. In some lineages of cancer cell culture, revatrol has been shown to induce apoptosis, which means it kills cells and may kill cancer cells. It’s possible that if a person regularly takes revatrol supplements, they will be more likely to withstand a stroke or other trauma to the brain. Besides helping to ameliorate this type of injury through free radical blockade, revatrol actually inhibits specific enzymes that change the way individual cells respond to the injury.

In addition to the benefits observed previously, revatrol has been tested for its ability to block off pain, stop the growth of the bacteria that causes stomach ulcers that can lead to cancer, protect immune cells, protect DNA, protect against skin cancer, and many other conditions.

A study by a group of scientists, which included Sinclair, showed that revatrol treatment had a range of advantageous effects in elderly mice but did not step-up the longevity of ad libitum-fed mice when started midlife. Paradoxically, treatment of pre-pubertal mice with high doses of revatrol enhanced formation of tumors.

Evidence for a trade-off between survival and fitness caused by revatrol treatment of Caenorhabditis elegans. Smaller but noteworthy effects were seen when treatment began 6 hours after infection, but at 9 hours after infection revatrol treatment had no effect. Pre-treatment also did not change susceptibility to infection. Therefore, developing an operational treatment strategy is important.

After revatrol treatment, the apoptosis rate of the neuroblastoma cells significantly increased, a significant accumulation of cells occurred at the S phase of the cell cycle, was downregulated, and cyclin E was upregulated. In addition, revatrol treatment suppressed the growth rate of subcutaneous neuroblastomas, resulting in 70% long-term survival. Thus, revatrol shows promise for the treatment of neuroblastoma.

This study demonstrates that revatrol and quercetin have novel non-steroidal anti-inflammatory activity that may have applications for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. Despite current rigorous treatment protocols, prognosis for high stage NB patients is poor and so there remains a need for more effective, less cytotoxic treatments.

Scientists became interested in exploring potential health benefits of revatrol when its presence was reported in red wine, leading to speculation that revatrol might help explain the French Paradox. The information is based on review of scientific research data, historical practice patterns, and clinical experience.
