Nicosia also provides a fascinating learning laboratory for a student interested in international relations or intercultural relations. It remains divided into Greek and Turkish-occupied sections and is the only divided city in Europe. Despite this division, Nicosia has been peaceful for over 30 years and provides a great opportunity to see the interplay of multiple cultural influences at work.
